NYC EXXXOTICA CONVENTION

Who says cool things don’t happen in New Jersey?
Amidst the yearly controversy that ensues when this particular convention comes to town, NYC EXXXOTICA 2009 opened as planned at the New Jersey Expo Center, in Edison NJ. As always there was the usual firebrand and protests over a porn show being held in NJ suburbia, but the Edison out-of-the-way Expo arena is about as far from the little kiddies as you’re ever gonna get. I got in too early with my press pass (cause that’s just how I roll!) walked around aimlessly for about an hour then hooked-up with intrepid photographer Buster Brown to do the meet and greet.
I’ve been to a few of these conventions before; it’s really mostly about talent and toys (more then any fan could possible shake a stick-or whatever else one wishes to shake-at). Not too many of the girls were in that early in the day, but I made my way under the Wicked Pictures ceiling-to-floor banners, past Fantasy Island’s island (this porn site had the biggest area of singing stations in the entire convention) fondled a few Fleshlights (they got to have about the nicest approachable salesmen you’re ever gonna meet), sauntered past Noir Production,
Giggles Glass Toys, Clips.com (these guys seem to be everywhere!) a couple of local NJ strip clubs (one featuring a mechanical penis instead of a bull) and Rockstar Pornstar.com.
After grabbing a Snapple® and a bag of pretzels (really about the best you can ever do for food at these expo center’s are ill-equipped snack-bars, pack a lunch I suggest) I walked over to the Jesus Loves Porn Stars booth. No way one couldn’t miss this group, they had more workers giving out booklets then anybody, but their smiling spokes-lady Jessica Nienaber took a few moments to give me the God-skinny. Their mission, as Miss Nienaber told me, is to tell people that the son of God, that ole’ J.C. guy, loves us, no matter what we’ve done, who we are and no matter what we might get into tomorrow (or even on later that day!). It seems the Las Vegas based church started standing outside these conventions with placards and bullhorns but decided they needed to get “more relevant” as Miss Nienaber told me, so they pony-ied up and joined the rank and file to set up right next to the folks they were protesting. But as Jessica assured me, “We’re not gonna judge, we’re not gonna win an argument, we’re gonna be here, be present, build friendships.”
Believe in the big man or not, that’s a nice message of tolerance…if one happens to carry it out.
Where does one go after Jesus?
To a mistress, of course.
I sauntered over to Manhattan mistress, Miss Tee, the dungeon she works for, Jezebel’s NYC, just a hop, skip and spank across the water from where we spoke.

The fetching brunette assured me that having complete control now of her business, she will release new content every 2 months, then roll into monthly releases in a year’s time. I had occasion to shake the hand of Evan Seinfeld (one of the nicest guys at the convention actually) of the band “Biohazard”, but for the purposes of Exxotica, he was there promoting his wife and their companies Terapatrick.com and Rockstar Pornstar.com. I tickled a Fleshlight again (purely for reporting purposes) then walked and met-thanks to Buster’s intro-NJ’s own Joanna Angel of Burning Angel Productions. The diminutive tattooed pornstar/business tycoon really didn’t have much time for me, even though I was wearing a press pass and I gave her my best dimpled-smile. She has a new product out called “LA Pink” only available on DVD, which I thought was interesting seeing as VOD seems to be all the rage, but Miss Angel is one busy lady, so I know she’s got to know what she’s doing.
Around 3, just when Joanna came in, the place was pretty much abuzz with talent, girls dancing on platforms, taking pics on swings, cavorting in various booths, shmozzing, networking but by 4 when the doors opened to the public, things got fun fun fun. You could just feel the buzz in the place it was electric with all the girls so very available for heir fans and the guys just lining up, smiling and getting a picture or DVD signed. Music blared and I smiled as girls posed in cages and on made shift beds. Really the vibe was just relaxed, the girls accessible and the toys plentiful, and to think, all this in northern NJ!
Really, NYC EXXXOTICA 2009 is a hoot, a real full weekend for the causal fan, toy shopper or diligent porn connoisseur alike.
