Marina Del Rey, CA – This morning posted ICM’s draft agreement on a .XXX sponsored top level domain (sTLD).
On 30 March 2007, the Board rejected the proposed agreement. ICM sought an independent review of the Board’s denial of ICM’s application for the .XXX sTLD. Two of the three judges on the Independent Review Panel issued a statement that they believed ICM met its requirements for a .xxx sTLD, the third justice was in dissent of the opinion. ICANN Board members reluctantly voted to act accordance with some of the Panel’s findings and directed ICANN staff to conduct expedited due diligence of ICM and to proceed into draft contract negotiations with ICM.
Part of the requirements of that due diligence is the posting of the ICM application for public comment.
“FSC plans to sift through the hundreds of pages of the application and its associated documents,” said Diane Duke FSC Executive Director. “We will then and provide feedback to the industry about ICM’s application as well as the suggested next steps for the industry and FSC in blocking ICM’s .XXX sTLD. FSC members and the industry can expect additional information from FSC by the week’s end.”
The application will be posted for a thirty day public comment period commencing at 12:00 noon Pacific Daylight August 24, 2010 through 11:59 a.m. Pacific Daylight time September 23, 2010.
Comments can be submitted to xxx-revised-icm-agreement@icann.org and viewed at http://forum.icann.org/lists/xxx-revised-icm-agreement/.

Duke reminded industry members, “This is just another step in a process-it is far from over and CERTAINLY not a done deal.”

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. – Attorneys today for Free Speech Coalition (FSC) filed a Rule 59(e) motion for reconsideration for a new trial in FSC’s 18 U.S.C. § § 2257 and 2257A lawsuit, in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

The trial was dismissed at the end of July by Federal District Court Judge Michael M. Baylson.

FSC filed the Rule 59(e) because they believe that Judge Baylson failed to address the key constitutional question in the case.

The key point in the filing and the issue FSC believes Judge Baylson overlooked is: “Under the First Amendment, no record keeping requirement derived from the Government’s interest in suppressing child pornography may substantially burden the circulation of expression which is not child pornography.”

The motion was filed by FSC attorneys Michael Murray and Lorraine Baumgardner with the expert assistance of attorney Reed Lee, FSC Board Member and Legal Committee Chair.

“We are looking for this motion to pinpoint the focus to the critical points of the litigation,” Lee said.

A motion to alter or amend a judgment must be filed no later than 28 days after the entry of the judgment. The government then has 14 days to reply to the motion.

http://www.myspace.com/fuzzvalentine

Plus Indie, Beats and Jpop from Criminal Records DJs.

THE STORY SO FAR
Sunlight swept across the city that afternoon. The streets were decorated with flamboyant characters and powerful imagery. characters who were happy and curious, daring and confident. coloured hair and painted faces, anime, lolita and cybergoth. some cute, some bold, tailored and precise, these high fashion icons lit the streets and the air was empowered by freedom, self expression and celebration. and so was born a new chapter in the tale.

Back in london there was panic. the city was phased with concrete and gloom. smoke bellowed from the chimneys whilst crowds of office works gathered outside the internet cafes in the rain. cogs turning in the machine, their sorrowful faces were the same that stare upward from their newspapers on the tube. Politicians stared out of the windows in despair and suddenly it was clear to see that the sand in the hour glass was running low.

It was time to begin. To escape….. It was time to return to Harajuku!

About The Kut
There’s no gimmick – The Kut are a group of accomplished musicians, who play a mix of dark indie; in parts upbeat and at other times intense. Combining sultry vocals, kick ass guitar riffs, dubby bass and solid drumming, the songs vary in style, but maintain their Basement Rock sound throughout.

Frontwoman, lead guitarist and multi-instrumentalist, Maha has been reviewed as a Slash/Linda Perry hybrid and The Kut’s original sound has earned them some growing attention in the UK as well as in the US. This year Maha secured an endorsement deal with Marshall Amplification, making her one of the only females in the UK to have their seal of approval. 2009 saw the band perform as main support at the 25th Anniversary of London’s People Day, a festival that attracts over 30,000 people each year. Other stages included performances from the James Taylor Quartet and other well known acts.

Their self-recorded ‘The Vision’ demo received a great deal of attention, and before The Kut set foot in a studio they gained the support of a massive amount of reviewers and radio stations. However, after spending time in the studio, the band are released their double A side single ‘Doesn’t Matter Anyway’ / ‘Closure’ on 2nd November. Doesn’t Matter Anyway is a choppy indie rock floor filler, whilst in contrast, ‘Closure’ is deep, technical and emotional. The ‘Doesn’t Matter Anyway’ music video was directed by accomplished producer Tom Norton of Juxtapose Films. This single has been well received all round, picking up support from BBC Radio 1 (Northern Ireland), BBC Radio Tees and achieving playlist on over 25 FM stations in the UK and into the hundreds worldwide. The video is now showing in 160 locations across the UK including Scream Pubs and Department stores. The reaction has been just as impressive across the pond.

These tracks are now available as a download (iTunes / Amazon / Play.com / 7 Digital / HMV) and on limited edition green 7″ vinyl [Criminal / Universal / Orchard] as the bands first key release. The recent UK tour was well received by fans and interviewers alike. The single provides a snippet of what is to come when The Kut finally unveil the eagerly awaited debut album, ‘Lies My Mother Told Me’.

CYBERSPACE — DotXXXOppostion.com has launched. It is a Theresa “Darklady” Reed production, and features a networking website with news and information about the heavy-handed attempt by ICM Registry to run DOT XXX as a sponsored top-level domain. Also announced today by no one in particular was the posting to the new site of .XXX – The Movie!, a multi-stakeholder production. Sit back for a laugh and view “Dot-XXX – The Movie” at http://www. dotxxxopposition.com

Reed was responsible for the screenplay for .XXX – The Movie!, which as of its premiere—the same weekend as Middle Men we might add—Aug. 8 at The AVN Show in Hollywood, Florida, opening the Dot XXX panel sponsored by the Free Speech Coalition. She got the screenplay to Wasteland founder Colin Rowntree, who agreed to cast and helm the production.

“Colin loved it,” said Darklady, of the heartfelt script she toiled over for untold hours. “He then sent out the word that anyone who wanted a cameo to support it should send in some footage, and before you knew it we were literally swamped with submissions, some from places as far away as Tibet, from people who never ever had a computer. They didn’t all make the cut, but many industry leaders did make it into the final version.”

Indeed they did. The just-under 8 minute video features notable cameos by Larry Flynt, John Stagliano, Joanna Angel, Quinten Boyer, Allison Viva, Peter Ackworth, Ron Cadwell, Mitch Farber and a Rat Pack of others from the adult entertainment firmament, all of whom contributed their many and varied talents (of the non-sexual kind) to the production of the satiric video. It also features, in the lead role of the satirical Stuart Lowley, a professional actor who is the face of several TV ad campaigns (mostly pitching hair growth products for balding men and hemorrhoid relief creams and ointments).

.XXX – The Movie can be viewed at http://dotxxxopposition.com where viewers and assorted passers-by are encouraged to share their thoughts and opinions on the movie and the issue, especially those members of the industry who also oppose Dot XXX.

Anyone who knows me – or thinks they know me – has figured out that I do not suffer fools gladly. With a drill sergeant for a father and an Irish Catholic for a mother, it didn’t take me long to learn that a lot of people want to convince me of things that make no sense.

If they can’t convince me that pigs really do fly and that up really is down, the fall back position is generally to marginalize, minimize, and/or muffle any opposition.

…Which just pisses me off more… and helps explain my decision to launch www.DotXXXOpposition.com.

One of the reasons that I am so strongly drawn to the adult entertainment industry and the topic of human sexuality in general, is that I believe sexuality is one of the most powerful creative forces known to humankind. Not merely because it includes reproduction, but because it also inspires great thought, great emotion, great realizations of self and others.

Conscious sexual expression, in my opinion, is the most pure form of political speech there is. As I understand it, political speech is one of our most dearly protected rights in the United States of America.

Or so I’ve been repeatedly told.

Long before I knew what and who ICM Registry and Stuart Lawley were, I had decided that, although .XXX sounds great upon first hearing, it doesn’t sound good for very long once the many real world implications are considered.

In a world where no adult content is allowed outside of .XXX, the sTLD makes sense. But who wants to run their business or live their life behind such an easily ISP Cisco server enforced wall – and why should they?

Rarely one to be at a loss for words, I brought a few pages of full paragraphs to Wasteland founder, Colin Roundtree, who enthusiastically agreed to cast, direct, and produce what we now lovingly call “Dot-XXX – The Movie!,” which premiered during the .XXX panel at the recent AVN Show in Florida. Although he had promised to attend the event, I have not heard that Mr. Lawley actually graced it with his presence.

Please visit www.DotXXXOpposition, check out “Dot-XXX – The Movie!,” and browse the articles I’ve posted so far. Feel free to comment and to contribute any news and information you feel will help make our opposition to this proposed sTLD more understandable to those still confused.

Thanks, of course, to Colin Rowntree – and to those industry members who were willing to get in front of the camera to state that online adult website owners and businesses do not want this sTLD and payment processor company store in our corner of the internet. Thanks to Larry Flynt, John Stagliano, Joanna Angel, Quinten Boyer, Allison Viva, Peter Ackworth, Ron Cadwell, Mitch Farber, and more, more, more.

Just because it’s sex doesn’t mean it’s not serious.

Cyberspace, August 18, 2010 – Who doesn’t crave a Lil Candy every now and then?

The owners of adult website ForbiddenGem.com proudly present the Internet’s newest teen sensation: http://www.lilcandy.com/

“Already with over two years adult modeling experience, the time had come to build Lil Candy her own website,” states Buster Thompson, business partner of the young starlet Lil Candy and owner of ForbiddenGem.com. “We feel that Lil Candy possesses the rare ability to exude sexuality, youthfulness, experience AND innocence all packaged in to the girl next door,” he adds. “Partnering with Lil Candy was the logical next step given her long time working relationship with adult star Naomi St. Claire as well as the large supply of content of her that we had on stock.”

While many teen sites often try too hard by pushing the envelope of youth and don’t realistically portray the barely legal niche, Lil Candy is the real deal. There is no need to put Lil Candy in pig tails or pompoms and in a high school setting. Her natural beauty and youthfulness is exuded in every photo set and video with no gimmicks needed… exactly what true connoisseurs of the teen market have come to expect and appreciate the most.

“Small busted, cute and forever looking 18, Lil Candy embodies the very essence of what the teen niche should be. There is no doubt that Lil Candy is truly one in a million and will sell well,” proclaims Forbidden Gem Productions co-owner and featured adult model Naomi St. Claire. She adds, “When I worked with her for the first time a couple of years ago in a scene, I just knew there was something special there and that somehow we’d arrive to where we are at today.”

Webmasters interested in promoting Lil Candy should be on the lookout soon for an affiliate program to launch in late summer 2010, currently under development. Prospective members have the option to join monthly recurring or for 90 days (and saving 1/3 off the monthly rate) by visiting http://www.lilcandy.com/

About Forbidden Gem Productions:

CANOGA PARK, Calif. – The Division of Occupational Safety and Health (CalOSHA) will hold a subcommittee meeting tomorrow, to discuss standards for the adult industry.

The meeting will be held at 100 S. Main St., Los Angeles, CA, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and is open to the public.

The subcommittee will meet with the CalOSHA Board of Directors to discuss regulations for bloodbourne pathogen standards for adult industry productions.

In addition to standards proposed by HIV/AIDS advocacy organization AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the subcommittee will discuss standard revisions proposed by Free Speech Coalition (FSC). FSC has developed proposed
revisions with OSHA compliance experts and adult industry stakeholders.

“It is my hope that this meeting is not designed to carry the political agenda of AHF and others like them, who know nothing about the adult industry but wish to regulate and control it,” FSC Executive Director Diane Duke said. “Whether CalOSHA will listen to the real stakeholders of this issue remains to be seen.”

The subcommittee members, which were appointed by CalOSHA, include adult industry attorney Paul Cambria, FSC representative and industry regulatory expert Kevin Bland, Hot House Entertainment CEO Steven Scarborough, Evil Angel General Manager Christian Mann, Traci Bryant, Dan Leal, Brian Chase, Peter Kerndt, Paula Tavrow, Denise Bleak, Gail Bolan and Frank Strona.

Tomorrow’s meeting is the second of four meetings scheduled to address regulations for bloodbourne pathogen standards for adult industry productions. An additional subcommittee meeting will be followed by a CalOSHA Board of directors meeting, to be held at a to-be-announced location in the Bay Area in October.
The Free Speech Coalition is the national trade organization to the adult entertainment industry. Its mission is to lead, protect and support the growth and well-being of the adult entertainment community.

Los Angeles, California
Tucson, Arizona

As Internet Safely Month comes to a close, the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is concluding the month by announcing the launch of the Restricted To Adults – RTA™ Website Label Plugin for WordPress.

WordPress is an open source content management system. It has many features including a plugin architecture and a templating system. Used by over 300 of the 10,000 biggest websites, WordPress is the most popular blogging software in use today. As of September 2009, it was being used by 202 million websites worldwide.

RTA was developed by ASACP out of a need for a free, easy to use, and internationally recognized label that designates content for adults only. The RTA label is a unique string of “meta data” which can be inserted into the computer code of any website. Parental filtering software recognizes the tag and prevents children from viewing adult content. Installing the RTA tag on a WordPress install can be somewhat complicated, so the Restricted to Adults plugin makes it one click — activate the plugin and your site is restricted to adults.

The RTA Plugin was developed by Saguaro Digital, a web and application development firm. Saguaro Digital developed the RTA Plugin pro-bono to make it easier for webmasters to correctly label their content using just “one click”/.

“No one wants a mandatory, complicated, and potentially expensive website labeling system. This is why ASACP created the Restricted To Adults – RTA Website Label. Whether for a traditional website, mobile content, or now WordPress; ASACP is dedicated to helping anyone who wants to quickly and simply label with RTA in order to prevent children from unknowingly reviewing age-restricted content,” stated ASACP CEO Joan Irvine. “We are so grateful to Saguaro Digital for volunteering to make the RTA WordPress plugin possible.”

The RTA WordPress Plugin is available at: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/restricted-to-adults/. Complete information about the RTA label is available at www.RTAlabel.org.

Saguaro Digital is a web and application development firm focused on the Adult Entertainment Industry. Saguaro Digital specializes in integrating complete solutions with existing products such as WordPress. For more information, erb@saguarodigital.com or http://saguarodigital.com.

Founded in 1996, ASACP is a non-profit organization dedicated to online child protection. ASACP comprises of two separate corporate entities, the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection and the ASACP Foundation. The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization. ASACP manages a membership program that provides resources to companies in order to help them protect children online. The ASACP Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The ASACP Foundation battles child pornography through its CP Reporting Hotline and helps parents prevent children from viewing age-restricted material online with its Restricted To Adults – RTA Website Label. ASACP is the only association in the world that coordinates the adult entertainment industry’s efforts to protect children online. It has spent over 14 years creating progressive programs to protect children. ASACP’s relationship in assisting the adult industry’s child protection efforts is unparalleled. Companies and individuals interested in supporting ASACP may go to www.asacp.org for more information on how to get involved.
